Oregon State Given Chance to Repeat Championship

Oregon State University was selected to the 64 team pool on Monday to compete in regional play.  This year the Beavers will have to travel to Charlottesville, Virginia to play.  They will face off against host Virginia, Rutgers, and Lafayette.

The Beavers barely made it into regional play this year coming in 6th place in the Pac 10 overall and have come under criticism from other teams that had better records but did not make it to Regionals.  The Beavers only have 2 returning starters from last year with most of the Juniors from the Championship winning team opting to go pro.

Oregon State has a lot to prove in the upcoming games.  Watch for their game on Friday against Big East champs Rutgers.

Georgia Tech Dissapointed About 64 Team List

Georgia Tech went to the College World Series in Omaha last year making it one of the top 8 national teams last season.  But this year the team was left out of the 64 team list to move on to regionals for only the 2nd time in 23 years.  So what happened this season?

Georgia Tech put up a overall winning record of 32-25 with a 16-14 record in the ACC.  The ACC is a notoriously good baseball conference which always makes Georgia Tech's conference play that much more difficult.  Normally the strong conference play places Tech in the 64 team regional pool but they fell apart as the season ended.  Tech lost 6 of their last 7 regular season games and lost 2 of 3 games at the ACC tournament.

64 Teams Move Closer To College World Series

The NCAA selected 64 teams this weekend to continue on to regionals, one step closer to the College World Series.  Vanderbilt took the #1 spot and will host its first regional in school history.

Creighton will compete in the Fayetteville Regional hosted by the University of Arkansas.  Creighton will face Arkansas, Oklahoma State, and Albany.  Arkansas is the #7 national seed and seen as the clear favorite in the regional, but many sports insiders are putting their money on Creighton because of the Bluejays phenomenal pitching staff.

Nebraska was placed into the Tempe Regional hosted by Arizona State.  The 4 teams in the Tempe Regional include Arizona State, UC Riverside, and Monmouth.  Arizona State will be a tough team to beat with star player Brett Wallace who has been playing well in the last couple of weeks.

Clemson's Brad Chalk Returns to Tigers

The Clemson Tigers entered the College World Series last year ranked #1 nationally.  Although Clemson will be a solid bid for the College World Series this year the team has taken a turn for the worse.  The Tigers suffered some injuries to some star players on their roster this year making the trip to Omaha a little bit more difficult.

The Tigers center fielder Brad Chalk was out the last 15 games with severe back spasms.  Chalk will return today in the ACC division championship when the Tigers take on Miami.  Chalk is expected to bring a new spirit to the team and also an impressive .407 batting average.

Clemson hopes to fair well this week in the ACC championship in hopes of hosting a regional NCAA tournament.  Chalk could bring the momentum Clemson needs to make it to the College World Series.

U of San Diego's Coach Surfs to Success

The University of San Diego looks like a shoe in for the College World Series  Much of the success of the program is do in large part to Coach Rich Hill.  Coach Hill has had great success this year with a 41-15 record with USD.  Hill has 307 wins since 1999 and has been looked at by athletic directors at large state schools.

Hill has no plans of leaving San Diego though.  According to the Omaha World Herald Hill enjoys the lifestyle of San Diego too much to leave.  Hill is a surfer at heart and is only 14 minutes away from the coast at his office, perfect for an afternoon break.  Look for USD to make a splash at this years College World Series here in Omaha.

Championship Games

A customer called this morning  and asked a few questions about College World Series tickets for Championship Games.

Why is the Championship Game 3 cheaper and 1 or 2?
Championship Game 3 is cheaper for two reasons. 1 - It may not be played if the best of three series is finished in two games. 2 - Fans from Omaha and out of area want to go to the first two Championship sessions and then travel on Monday.

Do I get a refund if no College World Series Championship Game 3 is played?
Yes, we refund the full amount of your purchase if no game is played if you have bought single session tickets. If you buy All Session strips, there is no refund.

Is there a discount if I order a large group of tickets for the College World Series?
No. We work with large and small clients and the prices are the same for everyone.

Will I have to pay more if LSU gets into the College World Series and brings all their fans?
No. Your ticket price is locked at the time you purchase the tickets from Ticket Express. We do not pass ticket price increases on to orders already on the books.
